Head Profressional
I am the Head PGA Professional at Hickleton Golf Club. I provide lessons to all abilities with tailored individual coaching programmes to suit your needs. Junior Group coaching is available through our Junior Golf Academy.I offer a range of golf lessons both on and off the golf course. We have the latest technology to help us provide detailed analytics on your swing. I joined Hickleton Golf Club as Head Professional after spending 4 years working under the tutorage of Peter Cowen (arguably the world’s best coach) at his Rotherham based academy and prior to that I joined his team at Rotherham after spending 10 years at the prestigious Lindrick Golf Club and qualified as a Professional in 2010. I am a successful and highly experienced PGA Professional who combines industry expertise after the recent completion of the advanced certificate in golf coaching. I have built a strong reputation coaching players of all abilities including the Yorkshire Girls County Coach since 2016. I always aim to help players feel relaxed and able to ask questions and feel the open dialogue is key to my coaching success.
Assistant Golf Professional
I am a fully qualified PGA Professional and currently an Assistant Professional at Hickleton Golf Club, where I’ve been a member since I began playing golf at the age of 9. In 2020, I served as Junior Captain and had the privilege of playing for the Sheffield Union Junior team and Hickleton’s scratch team.Growing up surrounded by golf and learning from many different coaches, I’ve gained a wide range of knowledge and experience that I now enjoy passing on to others. Throughout the PGA program, I developed a more in-depth understanding of all aspects of the game. Golf has always been a major passion for me, as it has been a constant part of my life for as long as I can remember. I take great enjoyment in helping others reach their goals and seeing them improve
Assistant Golf Professional
My name is Reece Samson and I am a fully qualified PGA golf coach at Hickleton Golf Club. I turned professional back in 2019 and completed my PGA training whilst working at Bondhay Golf Club. Before turning pro I played for the Notts County junior and men’s 1st teams, as well as playing for the England team at junior level too. Throughout the years playing for these teams I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in the way professionals coach and I look forward to passing on this knowledge to golfers of all ages and abilities to help them achieve their goals in this game, whether it is as part of a group or individually. I can help players with any part of their game and also possess great experience giving people full club fittings and gapping sessions, whatever they feel needs the most work to help them improve their golf and lower their scores.I have amassed a respectable number of golfing achievements, most notably winning The 2025 Foremost Assistant’s Championship, PGA South-West Open (Open Series), as well as competing in Open Final Qualifying on two occasions. My most notable amateur achievements would include winning the Midland Youth’s, and the Notts County Championships. Above all else, I have a great passion for coaching and helping people succeed in achieving their goals whatever they may be, and by having knowledge from numerous professional coaches around the country I hope I can provide the best possible swing and playing analysis for my students so they can break their own personal records, or simply help them enjoy the game to the fullest.
